| Description | This course will break down how to identify drug impaired drivers. You will learn the drugs that impair driving, drug impaired driving and how it relates to traffic safety. You will learn a detailed review of the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing including the foundational studies and the most recent validation studies. Students will practice and have the opportunity to pass the NHTS/IACP proficiency examination. Students will also learn the physiology of the human body and how driving behavior is affected by the use of the drugs. You will see how the drugs affect the eyes and other parts of the body and will be able to recognize those affects by utilizing HGN, VGN and LOC (Lack of Convergence). This course is vital in it’s education of identifying drivers who are impaired by drugs. In this day and age with the horrible drug problem and exists it is up to law enforcement to be able to identify the drivers who are impaired and stop them from driving. This course will provide you with the tools needed to aid you in the confidence that you need to make those impaired driving arrests. |
