About Us
The East Central Illinois Mobile Law Enforcement Training Team is a not-for-profit corporation recognized by resolutions from the units of government it serves.
The mobile team is affiliated with the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board, the state agency which certifies law enforcement training in Illinois, under authority of Public Act 82-674.
The team is staffed by a full-time project director who is directed by an advisory board comprised of sheriffs and police chiefs. MTU 13 also has a part time Executive Assistant on board to complete the team. Our goal is to provide the highest quality training from a wide range of subjects to as many officers as possible. To better help the communities they serve, officers should be highly trained. It is our challenge to deliver that training to them.
We maintain an administrative office on the third floor of the Coles County Courthouse on Jackson Street in Charleston. In addition, we operate a training center on DeWitt Avenue in Mattoon.
