Announcements

 ******Big New******

MTU 13 is proud to work with the Legal and Liability Risk Management Institute to bring you the FBINAA (Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy Association) Gold Standard Training in Leadership Certification Program.

You can attend this class as a stand-alone class or you can take it as part of a four-part course on leadership that will earn you a Certificate in Leadership from the FBINAA.

There are three classes you must take first.

1- Meeting the Leadership Challenges of Law Enforcement

(This was held last year at MTU 13 so many of you already have one class in the bank)

2- Mastering the Leadership Challenges of Law Enforcement

(Flyer is attached- Class is April 15-19th)

3- Attend an FBINAA Leaderhsip Forum

(We will look to have this available next year at their convenience)

Once you have taken the above three classes you do the following:

4- Complete a self-study research paper assigned by the FBINAA Education and Training Division.

Why should I do this Brad?  Great question.

Many officers moving up the Leadership path choose to go the route of Northwestern Supervision of Police Personnel.  That class has a cost attached to it that some agencies are not able to afford.

Other officers attend the FBI National Academy in Virginia, as I did.  It was a great experience, but not everybody can get away for 10 weeks.

This course that we are hosting allows officers to get a certification from a nationally recognized leadership institution and get it in bites that the organization can digest.  Class one above was a three-day class.  The class we are holding from April 15-19th is a 4.5-day class (Mastering the Leadership Challenge of Law Enforcement).  I believe the leadership forum is a one-day class but don't quote me on that one anyway.

This is an awesome opportunity to get leadership training and work towards a certification in leadership.  We are very excited to be able to bring this to you as well.  It is sure to help make you a better leader for your organization and community, make you more promotable, and put you ahead if you are hoping to change agencies.

Please remember- You can take this as a stand-alone class without being committed to the certification program or you can take it and continue on.
