| Description | This course combines essential first aid and safety education as recommended by the American Heart Association and the "Stop the Bleed" initiative. The training focuses on injury prevention and providing emergency care for injuries caused by accidents or sudden illness. This program fulfills the medical training requirements set forth in Illinois House Bill 3653. Officers will be trained to sustain life for 15-20 critical minutes until higher-level medical professionals arrive on the scene. This training has the potential to save a life—whether it’s a suspect, a civilian, a fellow officer, or even you. While we can’t predict who will need help, we know that when tragedy strikes, law enforcement officers are often the first to respond. MTU 13 takes pride in offering this life-saving training, developed by officers for everyone. |
