Description | PURPOSE OF COURSE: A one day course with training strategies and courses of fire designed to enable the instructor to teach remedial shooters innovative techniques advance their performance. The curriculum provides techniques, drills and courses of fire to maximize efficient and effective training to get remedial students shooting better with less wasted time and ammunition expended. These methods also apply to more effectively train new shooters. . COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course employs a mix of classroom and range training sessions to expand the firearms instructor skills to more effectively teach remedial problem shooters. Many of the techniques derive from sports psychology and the special operations ‘combat athlete’ program. Trainees participate in a classroom session on teaching strategies and instructor tradecraft. The remainder of the day is spent on the firing line. Trainees participate in a shooter diagnostic drill the more effectively assesses shooter error. Coaching based drills allow trainees to participate from the end-user perspective and gain experience providing correction. This segment focuses on accuracy before moving to more progressive skills.
