PURPOSE OF THE COURSE: End-user level course developed for the needs of smaller agencies where a two-officer initial response to an active shooter threat is the typical operating procedure. Training also incorporates solo officer response that applies to School Resource Officers.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: A one day course to provide patrol officers training and experience on tactics, techniques and procedures for initial response to an aGtive shooter threat. The procedures center on two officers and includes solo officer tactics. The methods take into account active shooter statistics and operating in a semi-permissive environment with a high ratio of ‘friendly’ persons in proximity. After completing dry fire rehearsals, training progresses to series of mini-scenarios to solidify training tasks and application of skills.
