Body Searches: From Terry to Strip Search

Police_Body_Search.png

As we all know, proper searching is an area of officer safety as well as an opportunity for complaints against officers.  How we search people and knowing how to search people correctly is of vital importance.  This is vital information to all officers who conduct searches, both patrol and corrections.  Both male and female officers will benefit from this important training just as both patrol, corrections and detectives will as well.  The subject of unique circumstance searching will be addressed by talking initiating searches against females by both male and female officers.  You do not want to miss this valuable information.  I guarantee that you will take something away from this class that you will use on the job.

Topics to be addressed include the following:

- Proper search methods                                            - Opposite sex searches

- Common search mistakes                                        - Strip Searches

- Legal doctrine pertaining to different types of searches, including strip searches

- Same sex searches                                                      -Policy and Procedure
