Critical Trauma Crisis Management Certification

PURPOSE OF COURSE: This course will help law enforcement personnel identify symptoms of
PTSD and PTSS and will provide tools for them to manage the residual effects of trauma. The course also
provides a basic certification for those who would like to become a Critical Trauma Debriefing Facilitator.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Deals with Trauma and its long-term effects on the workplace and family relationships. Describes the history of debriefing and the reasons for it. Demonstrates how it is used
and how to conduct Critical Trauma Debriefs.

GOALS: The Goals of the Course are as follows
To certify debriefing facilitators within departments
To teach law enforcement personnel best practices for handling trauma exposure
To increase awareness of trauma-related issues
To decrease burn out.
