Custodial Escort and Custody of High Risk Inmates
This curriculum will provide policy and procedures to effectively transport prisoners and committed persons in a secure, safe, and professional manner. Emphasis should be given to officer and medical staff safety. Despite the prisoner/ committed person security classification, all prisoners/ committed persons have the potential to try and escape. Following all security policies and procedures will lessen the inmate’s ability to escape, and to harm self or others.
This curriculum will provide three (3) phases when transporting prisoners and committed persons
Planning Phase
Preparatory Phase
Transport Phase
Inclusive within the planning and preparatory phases is restraint methods and security considerations for high risk committed person. Hands on weapons retention training shall be offered for the transport phase. Note– While this is not yet mandated training (yet), the Health Care Violence Prevention Act holds potential liability to both counties and municipalities that fail to get their personnel properly trained.

1 TRAINING FIREARM ( IF AVAILABLE, FOR EXAMPLE -REDMAN TRAINING
GUN) MTU 13 has plastic training guns for you as well.
