Introduction to Breaching

Breecher_instructor_course.jpg

**This is NOT solely a SWAT class**  I wanted to get your attention on that.

There are many times that a patrol officer will need to know breaching tactics on the job, not just the breacher on the SWAT team.  Successful breaching is much more than simply kicking an door in.  This is the last day of the Breacher Instructor course.  The students and instructor are going to go through various methods of breaching and various types and tools used in breaching.  If you are an Active Shooter Instructor, this would be a good class to compliment your Active Shooter class.  SWAT officers can definitely benefit from it as well.

A one day course for officers to learn the fundamentals of breaching at the operational, end user level. Training is hands-on with multiple forced entry tasks including ram doors, pry doors, ballistic breaching, and alternative methods. A primary focus is breaching under exigent circumstances such as an active shooter event. Student will leave with a better understanding of breaching methods, best practices on using tools, hand-on experience and a training certificate.

The Introduction to Breaching Course presents a solid foundation on core skills for all tactical team members, detectives who serve warrants and patrol officers for active shooter situations. Trainees participate in hands-on activities that involve mechanical tools, power tools, ballistic [shotgun] breaching, thermal and barricades. All tools are provided, but this is a great opportunity to test your own equipment. Training is conducted in support of the Breacher Instructor Course under expert supervision.
