San JOse Field Training Officer
This course is intended for patrol officers and supervisors who wish to become field training officers or field training supervisors utilizing the San Jose Model of instruction and evaluation. The course will in-troduce specific teaching methods applicable to adult learners, performance evaluation using standardized rating procedures, techniques for remedial training, and legal issued pertinent to recruit training. This model originated in San Jose, California Police Department in 1972 and has been emulated across the country by municipal and county law enforcement agencies.
