Traffic Crash Investigations 2
At-scene traffic crash data collection is useful only if
all appropriate information is collected and properly
interpreted and analyzed. As the second class in our
essential five-course sequential series, Traffic Crash
Investigation 2 builds on the topics examined in Crash
Investigation 1 and enhances the capability and
credibility of the investigator.
Based on the current edition of J. Stannard Baker’s
world-renowned textbook Traffic Crash Investigation,
this recently updated course emphasizes vehicle
behavior in crashes, vehicle damage analysis, and
advanced mapping and evidence location skills.
Our expert instructors provide participants with
greater knowledge of the information available at the
crash scene and teach how to properly collect and
initiate interpretation of that data as well as how to
write complete and accurate technical reports.
Recognizing the critical importance of crash data
retrieval (CDR) to investigation, Northwestern Center
for Public Safety’s CDR Operator class is included
as a unit within this course. Students who complete
Crash Investigation 2 will be certified to download and
preserve digital evidence from collisions.
