Vehicle Reclamation
Junk Vehicles in your community is a nuisance. From being an eyesore to bettering our communities, we know that these have to be moved. Junk simply breeds more junk. If you want crime free neighborhoods, we have to clean up the clutter that makes them look nicer. Our officer from the SOS office is here to let us know how to do it right.
This 8 hour course will provide the latest information on applicable statue, case law, and procedures re-quired by the Secretary of State in order to process these vehicles properly.
The goal of this program is to train officers for the complex duties involved in understanding and pro-cessing vehicles that are abandoned, junked, seized, and otherwise left unattended by their owners.
Outline Includes:
1. Review of all applicable law contained in the IVC reference Vehicle Reclamation
2. Review how and when a vehicle may be reclaimed after impoundment
3. Learn the procedures for disposing of un-claimed vehicles
4. Lean the different types of certificates of ti-tles and vehicle dealers appropriate to each title.
5. Review of all documents required by the Secretary of State before a title document is issued.
